2011 / 2012 Registration:

We currently have spaces available in our three and four year old classes.  The two year old class is full with a waiting list.

2012 / 2013 Registration

An open house will be held in our classroom (3737 West 27 th Avenue, St Philip’s Church) on Saturday, January 14, 2011 from 9:30am to 11:30am for interested families to learn more about our programs.

How to Register

Send email to registration@tomthumbpreschool.ca at 8am or after on January 21, 2012.  Emails received earlier than 8am on this date will not be processed.

The subject of the email should read “TT registration – 2s class” (or 3s class or 4s class).

The body of the email should contain your child’s name and birthday, parent names, address, phone number and email.

All applicants will receive an email to let them know if they have a spot for 2012-2013 or if they are on the waitlist.

Registration packages will be distributed the week after online registration at which time registration deposits will be accepted.

Registration Policies

Please note places for each up-coming school year are given out as follows:

  1. Currently registered children: Children currently enrolled in the school are guaranteed a place in the next year’s class. Registration for currently registered families will take place in December. Registration packages will be handed out in early December and are due to be returned to the Enrollment Chair by the end of December.
  2. Siblings of currently registered children: Families currently enrolled in the school wanting to take a place for siblings need to inform the Enrollment Chair and return registration packages by the end of December if you plan on registering other children at Tom Thumb next year.
  3. Non-registered alumni: These families need to inform the Enrollment Chair by the end of December to secure a place ahead of the general public.
  4. General Registration: Registration for the general public will take place on Saturday January 21, 2012 starting at 8am via email at (registration@tomthumbpreschool.ca) registration (at) tomthumbpreschool (dot) ca. The places not taken by the above mentioned Tom Thumb families will be offered on a “first come first served basis” at the January registration date.
  5. After January 21st, further registration and waitlisting will take place by email at (registration@tomthumbpreschool.ca) registration (at) tomthumbpreschool (dot) ca or by phone at 604 222-2550.

The number of spaces currently available for public registration for 2012-2013 on January 21, 2012 – taking into account the current and alumni families who have registered – will be listed below.

Registration and Tuition Fees

  • 2012-2013
    • Two Year Olds $95.00 per month + $100 Registration Fee
    • Three Year Olds $160.00 per month + $100 Registration Fee
    • Four Year Olds $210.00 per month + $100 Registration Fee

When enrollment is confirmed, all remaining monthly tuition fees are paid by direct payment. The Tom Thumb Treasurer will issue an Authorization Form which must be completed and returned, along with a void cheque, at or before the September General Meeting.

A non-refundable deposit of two months tuition and the Registration Fee is required to ensure your child’s spot in the class you have requested.

Enrollment Information

Registration Packages

The Enrollment Chair issues registration packages which consist of a number of important forms. The completed forms are returned to the Enrollment Chair, along with a cheque made payable to Tom Thumb Preschool for the registration fee and the first and last month’s tuition fee. The registration fee and one month’s tuition fee are non-refundable.

Note: The number of registration packages distributed to new families is based on the number of spaces that are available after returning children, siblings and alumni have been registered.

The Enrollment Chair and Enrollment Assistant are responsible for registering all new and returning children into their age specific class and for ensuring that full enrollment is maintained throughout the school year.

Council of Parent Participation Preschools (CPPP)

Once your child is enrolled, you not only do you become a member of Tom Thumb, you also become a member of the Council of Parent Participation Preschools (CPPP). The Council is an umbrella organization that supports and assists preschools in providing a high standard of preschool education.

Each month you receive a newsletter from the Council with interesting articles and useful information regarding issues surrounding early childhood education and development.
