Every year we do an online Preschool Evaluation. We expect everyone to participate to provide valuable feedback about Tom Thumb.

The following questions are discussed. Please give them some thought as we look forward to hearing from all of you how we can make Tom Thumb even better (if that is possible?)

  1. Think back to your first few weeks with your child at Tom Thumb. How did you hope your child would benefit by participating in this preschool?
  2. Children learn and develop best when they are comfortable in their surroundings. What can we do to make Tom Thumb more comfortable for you and your child?
  3. There are many preschool programs to choose from on the west side of Vancouver. Why did you choose Tom Thumb?
  4. Rate the classroom activities. Indicate the two high quality activities and the two low quality activities. Discuss areas where improvement is needed.

  5. Parent participation preschools could not operate without parents taking on a job portfolio. How well supported did you feel to take on your portfolio?
  6. Communication – how well is the preschool facilitating communication (from the executive, teachers, other parents)?
  7. Schedule – are you happy with the current schedule of classes offered at Tom Thumb (e.g. frequency and times) and what changes if any would you like to see?
  8. Giving families a feeling of belonging to a community of families is an important aspect of the parent partcipation preschool experience. How we can improve on the sense of community at Tom Thumb?
